ARaaS® Dashboard Wiki / Architecture
How it works
Architecture
The dashboard is a read-and-aggregate layer, not another store of hand-keyed numbers. It listens to what the apps publish, keeps the lineage, and rolls the result up the asset hierarchy in near real time.
The event bus
Each app publishes its metrics and events, an OEE update, a new anomaly, a completed inspection, a changed stocking policy, onto a shared event bus. The ARaaS® Dashboard subscribes to what it needs and updates the affected indices as events arrive, so the executive view is close to live rather than a monthly extract. Publish and subscribe also keeps the apps loosely coupled: an app can change internally without breaking the dashboard, as long as the published contract holds.
The asset hierarchy
Everything is aggregated against one shared asset hierarchy, from equipment to system to site to portfolio, so a number can be rolled up and drilled down along the same structure. Because all five apps and the dashboard resolve to the same hierarchy and the same asset identity, an OEE loss, a condition alert and a spare shortage on the same machine line up rather than living in separate trees.
Single source of truth and lineage
The dashboard reads each metric from the app that owns it and records where it came from, so every figure keeps its lineage back to the raw reading. Nothing is re-calculated in the dashboard, which is what lets an executive number be trusted and audited: the roll-up is transparent, and any headline opens all the way down to the source.
Module licence status
Not every site runs every app. The dashboard knows which modules, OptimalOEE™, OptimalTREND™, OptimalAvailability Studio™, OptimalIntegrity Studio™ and OptimalSPARES™, are licensed and live at each site, and shows a pillar as covered, partial or not yet instrumented accordingly. The view is honest about its own coverage, so a green pillar is never confused with an unmonitored one.
Where the ARaaS® Dashboard fits
This architecture is what makes the ARaaS® Dashboard a live single source of truth rather than a reporting deck. It is the top layer of the Optimal® ARaaS® platform, and it grows as apps are added: a new module simply publishes to the bus and lights up its pillar.
